Cary Hughes Weekes
Cary Hughes Weekes is a cofounder of Press Forward and currently serves as the Chair of the Executive Board. Cary is a former journalist who began her career as an intern for ABC’s Good Morning America in New York and WTVD in Durham, North Carolina while she was a student at Duke University. She graduated with a B.A. in Public Policy Studies and settled in New York City working in the news media for Entertainment Weekly, HBO’s On the Record with Bob Costas, CNN’s American Morning, and FoxNews’s Dayside.
Cary returned home to South Carolina in 2009 with her young family and has dedicated her efforts to the betterment of the community in which she lives. Cary has served as Chair of the Board of The Children’s Museum of the Upstate, the 7th largest children’s museum in the country, and as a Trustee for the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts Foundation, a state-wide organization. She is currently the Board Chair of Christ Church Episcopal School, a k-12 independent school serving over 1100 students. Additionally, she serves as a Trustee for the Peace Center, the upstate’s 6-acre cultural center in the heart of downtown Greenville. Cary lives in Greenville with her husband and three children.
